Due to their susceptibility to humidity and temperature changes, these floors should be installed above grade on approved wooden subfloors and secured with nails or staples. They can be recoated and refinished multiple times.
Engineered Wood Floors: Engineered wood floors consist of multiple hardwood layers laminated together, offering stability and versatility. They can be glued, stapled, or floated over various subfloors, including wood, concrete slabs, and existing flooring. With cross-ply construction, these floors resist expansion and contraction due to humidity changes and can be installed at any level in the home. Exotic Wood Species
Today wood flooring is also offered in a variety of hardwood species that are not found in North America.
